We need an experienced Ruby Developer to join our growing team. This role is based in our head office in Collingwood, Melbourne - where our Product & Development teams are located.
You will be responsible for coordinating with our Product and Front-end teams to design and build APIs, infrastructure and tooling in order to facilitate our growth into new areas. We use Ruby—primarily Ruby on Rails, and JavaScript—a mix of Angular and Node.js with React—to build our core service. We are piloting new services in other languages, such as Elixir and Go.
We are dedicated to automating everything. DevOps is a shared responsibility across the team and infrastructure is driven through code. We allocate time every iteration to pay down technical debt and to improve internal tooling and infrastructure. It’s an exciting place to work and one in which you have the opportunity to experiment and innovate.
Once every 3 months we take a couple of days out from regular business and get together for hack days to work on cool things proposed by our team, just for the fun of it. We share a building with SitePoint, Influx and PromisePay, who we have fortnightly dev lunches with, and invite anybody to get up and present something they think the team could find interesting.
